World Trade Center Delaware Promotes Delaware Business in Dubai at first US Commerce Led Trade Mission Since Pandemic FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 6, 2022 Contact: [email protected] +1 302-656-7905 www.wtcde.com DUBAI, UAE – World Trade Center Delaware President Carla Stone is promoting Delaware's innovative companies and educational institutions at the first U. S. Department of Commerce trade mission since the pandemic taking place in Dubai, UAE. Organized by the Department's International Trade Administration (ITA), Trade Winds (March 6-8) is designed to help U.S. businesses seeking to expand into new markets. American participants have a unique opportunity to meet in-person with prospective distributors, sales and government representatives, or partners that have been vetted by Commerce as interested in pursuing business. As in past Trade Winds missions, it is anticipated that nearly 600 government-to-business meetings and over 400 business-to-business engagements will occur. This year's Trade Winds centers around a three-day business forum (March 6-8) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, that features meetings with U.S. commercial diplomats and trade experts from over 20 countries in the Middle East, North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, plenary sessions and networking events. Companies can also join Commerce officials for optional trade mission stops in Algeria, Israel, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Egypt. At each mission stop and in the Trade Winds forum, attending companies and organizations will meet directly with foreign government leaders, market experts and pre-vetted potential business partners. Carla Stone also will attend the inaugural Women Empowered Leave Legacies through Trade and Investment (WELLTI) Summit taking place alongside the Trade Winds business forum. The WELLTI Summit will feature panels and events to provide women-owned businesses and entrepreneurs with data, knowledge, contacts, and financing to increase trade. Stone said, "The Middle East and Africa present major export opportunities for Delaware's many businesses, large and small. Some of the sectors seeking US products and services include healthcare, biotech, agriculture, logistics, environmental services, IT, fintech, and education and training. This event allows me to showcase our state's business climate, location, industries and top notch academic institutions. Already I have received requests from private companies and government agencies to arrange matchmaking opportunities with Delaware businesses and to develop trade missions to Delaware." World Trade Center ® Delaware is the State’s premier international business and economic development resource. We are a member of the World Trade Centers Association, a global network of over 320 World Trade Centers in nearly 100 countries that helps companies to succeed in new markets, increase profitability, expand employment, and attract investment.
