Filing of EEI (electronic export information) for shipments to Puerto Rico and the USVI Census issued a Federal register notice asking for comments from industry about this proposed change. Today if you move goods to PR or USVI you need to file an export data filing to Census. Census stated that they would like to eliminate this data filing requirement however they see to know other sources of the data that can be used to replace this filing. BIS policy review for export licensing BIS issued a FRN on October 6th (final rule) stating that all BIS license applications will be review for human right violations. This policy change will impact the US export licensing requirements and will ask US exporters to take a possible deeper dive into the end-users and the end use of their products.
