Nigeria’s First Woman Ambassador to US Joins Kogi State Deputy Governor at November 16th Breakfast and Networking New Castle, DE. November, 2021. On November 16, 2021, Nigeria’s first woman Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Uzoma Elizabeth Emenike, will join H. E. Dr. Edward David Onoja, Deputy Governor, to launch Inaugurating Trade, Collaboration & Friendship Between Kogi State, Nigeria & State of Delaware. The Delaware partnership is being led by Lt. Governor Dr. Bethany Hall-Long and the Delaware Africa Caribbean Coalition (DACC) with World Trade Center Delaware (WTC Delaware), the event organizer. The sponsor is the Delaware Prosperity Partnership. “The time is ripe for US companies to form relationships and partnerships with African companies in strategic locations. Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa, offers a myriad of opportunities for Delaware’s companies and academic institutions, " said Carla Stone, President of WTC Delaware. “This Breakfast and Networking event will include time for attendees to meet with the 27 Kogi Government decision makers and business leaders to discuss potential trade and project opportunities between Kogi State Delaware. According to DACC’s Dr. Eunice Gwanmesia, Members of the Delegation would like to begin a dialogue with their counterparts on topics related to expanding healthcare, agriculture, communications, and technology, promoting tourism and culture, port management, and increasing opportunities for small businesses, women, and youth. This summer, members of the DACC traveled to Nigeria and met with Kogi State officials including the Governor, Deputy Governor, Commissioners, and business leaders to plan this trade mission. Delaware’s Lt. Governor and WTC Delaware joined discussions via Zoom. This 27 member Kogi State Delegation is led by Deputy Governor H. E. Dr. Edward David Onoja. The Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Uzoma Elizabeth Emenike, the country’s first female Ambassador will attend.
