Philadelphia Regional Port Authority (PRPA) terminals provide additional options for Delaware shippers. Major US highways I-95 and I-76 are within minutes of the terminals, along with service from three Class 1 railroads (Canadian Pacific Rail, CSX, and Norfolk Southern). The Port of Philadelphia moved over 3,644,000 tons of cargo in 2010, a total 17% greater than the total for the previous year. This included 270,000 TEU. Key cargos include perishable goods, forest products, cocoa beans, autos, steel, project cargos and military cargo. Major successes for 2010 included the start of the Delaware River Main Channel Deepening Project (digging the main shipping channel to 45 feet), a successful bid process for the Southport Marine Terminal Project, and attracting the following new steamship line services: Maersk Lines and CMA-CGM both announced new services from Philadelphia to the West Coast of South America; Sea Star Line brought a new Puerto Rico service; Eukor brought 68,876 new Hyundai and Kia automobiles to the Port; and Wagonborg started a new service to bring rolls of high quality Finish paper up the Delaware River. PRPA facilities provide 18,000 linear feet (5,518 m.) of berthing space, 4 million square feet (371,612 sq. m.) of covered storage, and state-of-the-art cargo handling equipment.
