Today is National Technology Day! Tech is changing childhood and causing a deep level of concern due to wide-reaching negative impacts on kids and youth. Social media, videos, and gaming are causing hyperactivity, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and attention problems. This is having a significant impact on one of the fundamental skills that form the basis of all learning—reading and language development. 10 Million kids in the US have difficulties learning to read. 65% of kids are below proficient in 4th Grade Reading and the scores have only worsened after the pandemic. But we simply cannot turn away from technology as it is rapidly disrupting and changing the world today. It is at the core of every experience and changing all facets of our life including the way we read and learn. Parents and educators need to be INFORMED and CHOOSE TO USE THE RIGHT EdTech tools that benefit kids instead of causing them irreparable harm. We at Smart Kidz Club, Inc. are proud to have designed a collection of responsible apps for young children that are 100% safe and maximize learning.
