For immediate release World Trade Center Delaware to host event on attracting overseas capital Sports stadiums, office buildings, cultural spaces and major infrastructure construction projects – including the PTC/I-95 Interchange project of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission that will connect the turnpike with Interstate 95 – have all received necessary capital funding through EB-5 immigrant investors. The EB-5 program incentivizes immigrants to invest capital into U.S. businesses that create jobs, at interest rates that are often less expensive than conventional financing. World Trade Center Delaware presents “The EB-5 Immigrant Visa: Using Foreign Capital to Fund Delaware Projects,” featuring three speakers with deep experience in working within EB-5 programs: Young Min Ban, director of the Delaware Valley Regional Center; Matthew I. Hirsch, a solo practitioner working primarily in the areas of employment and family-based immigration; and Matthew T. Galati, a Philadelphia-based EB-5 attorney at Green and Spiegel, LLC. The program will offer valuable information for attorneys, real estate developers, investment fund managers, economic development professionals and accountants. “The EB-5 Immigrant Visa: Using Foreign Capital to Fund Delaware Projects” will take place from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Delaware Law School, 4601 Concord Pike, Wilmington. Registration is $50 for members of the World Trade Center Delaware and $100 for non-members. Attendees are eligible to receive two Continuing Legal Education credits in Delaware or Pennsylvania. The World Trade Center Delaware is a private-sector, nonprofit organization helping Delaware companies to succeed in the international marketplace. With a primary focus on export promotion, the WTC Delaware develops programs to assist businesses and organizations including educational and networking events, market research, and consulting. ‘ SPEAKER BIOS Young Min Ban, director of the Delaware Valley Regional Center, has extensively managed investments in a variety of structures. Mr. Ban currently also serves as a director at Reath&Co. Prior to his current roles, Mr. Ban was a portfolio manager at the Swarthmore Group managing both equities and fixed income products. He previously worked for Pinebank Asset Management as a high-yield investments analyst. He also worked as an analyst for Resolution Partners, along with that company's Distressed Hedge Fund. Mr. Ban earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Boston College and he graduated from New York University with his Juris Doctor/M.B.A. Mr. Ban has received the CFA designation. Matthew I. Hirsch is a solo practitioner working primarily in the areas of employment and family-based immigration. He is a past Chair of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and has been served on numerous local and national committees for AILA. From 2007 to 2013, Mr. Hirsch served on the Board of the American Immigration Council, an organization committed to education and awareness about immigration in the United States. He is an Adjunct Professor of Immigration Law at Delaware Law School of Widener University and a regular speaker on immigration law topics for international students and their advisors, lawyers and human resource professionals. Matthew T. Galati is a Philadelphia-based immigration attorney at Green and Spiegel, LLC. Matt leads the Firm’s U.S. Investors and Entrepreneurs Division, dedicated to representing individuals and companies seeking use of foreign investment in the immigration context. Matt has experience with nearly every aspect of immigration law and focuses the majority of his practice on EB-5-related matters. He is active in the immigration law community. Matt is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and serves on the Philadelphia chapter’s Executive Committee as its Vice Secretary.
